“This year is absolutely flying”, a comment I’ve read over and over again since the beginning of February. Are you sick of hearing it yet?! I feel like I was only writing my festive wish list a couple of weeks ago, and yet, here I am preparing for my 21st birthday, featuring yet another awfully put together graphic. I’ve been flooded with questions asking what I would like and while I’m notorious for never knowing, I actually have a full list of things that I really, really want this year – which is welcomed with open arms by my family who normally have no idea what to buy. My mum’s still a little shook that her ‘baby’ is going to be a fully-fledged adult, and if I’m honest, I am as well..
I can already feel you judging me for wanting something so dark for my birthday, and even more so that I’m starting my list with it. I’ve played this a few times with friends over drinks, and I always see it on other people’s social media, so I feel like this is just something I need. I’m sure that you’ll probably think I’m a little sick and twisted for wanting something like this for my birthday, but I have a pretty dark sense of humour, as far as dark senses of humour’s go, and I’d love to be able to bring this out with both friends and family in the evening, who I think would love it just as much as I would..
My life goal when I was about nine was to have my own personal library by the time I was an adult. I used to have such a huge collection of books, shelf after shelf filled, and I’ve loved reading ever since I was tiny so I feel like this is paying homage to such a huge part of my childhood. I saw the Penguin Clothbound Classics in Waterstones a couple of weeks back, and since then, they’ve been constantly on my mind. I would love to own the whole collection eventually, but until then, I want to kick off my own set with Frankenstein and Alice In Wonderland..
This could easily feature in a ‘bloggers made me buy it’ post because I’ve seen this all over social media, and I feel like I need to get my hands on it myself. As you’ll know if you’ve read my life update post, I’ll have two more tattoos by my 21st birthday, and everyone and their aunt has recommended this to keep them looking fresh and vibrant! I’m super intrigued to see how they work, hence why they’re appearing on my wishlist. If someone doesn’t buy the set for me, I’ll definitely treat myself but rumour has it that a new set is on the way, which is super exciting..
If you’re anything like me, and watch a ridiculous amount of beauty videos, you’ll know that most YouTubers use Morphe brushes, and I’m yet to actually try them out myself. I’ve had my eye on this set for a little while – not only is the price incredible and super reasonable, but I want to be a little more adventurous with my eye looks, so this set seems ideal. If they’re good enough for the likes of Laura Lee and Manny MUA, I’m sure they’re good enough for little old me as well..
I’m sure this will come as absolutely no surprise, but obviously new brushes require new makeup in my opinion! I feel like this is the perfect palette for anyone wanting to try more adventurous eye looks, because there’s a mix of wearable, every day shades as well as those pops of colour for days when you’re wanting to try something a little different. Not only do I always hear positive things about Morphe shadows in general, I’ve only heard positive things said about this palette itself – it’s got nearly two thousand five star reviews on Beauty Bay! I can’t wait to get my hands on it and get a little more creative with my makeup looks..
I guess it’s pretty difficult to believe that as a beauty blogger, I’ve never tried anything from Urban Decay. I’ve watched countless videos that have mentioned their products, I’ve read review after review, I’ve been drawn to counter in store countless times before, swatching away, but I’ve never actually purchased any of their products to try myself. As you’ll know, I’m a full coverage gal and their All Nighter Concealer (in Fair Warm, for Casper the Friendly Ghost over here obviously) looks as though it’ll cover my not-so-designer eye bags, my uneven skin tone, as well as my dark conscience after playing Cards Against Humanity. And a setting spray that’s said to last sixteen hours – need I say any more?! I’ve surprised myself a little this year that I’ve managed to compile such a long list of things that I really want – although that may be because I’ve had to watch my spending while unemployed recently, so I’ve been lusting after things rather than actually purchasing. I know for sure that my family will be thankful that I’ve put a bit of thought into what I want for my birthday though, and I’m not just shrugging my shoulders and incessantly answering “I don’t know”..
Have you tried any of the products I’ve mentioned? What’s on your birthday wishlist?
